Cyclical Damage

cyclical damage

I cry out for you

like a siren in the wind.

spending my days

walking amidst your denial

while you worry about

your trials and tribulations

praying,

“Lord, send me my blessing.”

stressing and confessing your sins

promising to make amends

with enemies and friends.

you front.

to get what you want.

yet you are forgiven

for living a lie.

I try sowing a seed

deep within your psyche

but it’s unlikely

that you will water it

with Truth

because it’s just like you

to subdue your mind

and hide behind

a deluge of words

denying the urge

to prune

dead branches

though the damage

will be exponential

 not reaching your

full potential

if you wait too long.

fearing you’re not strong enough

to run the race

your pace slows up

as your desires play tricks

revealing quick fixes

for your troubled heart

and you start

down the path of least resistance

which is consistent with the law

that destines you

to repeat your past

infecting you

with fatal flaws

that hinder your prosperity

and the disparity between

who you are

and

who you could be

grows larger

thus

it’s smarter to surrender

before you hinder

the completion of your blessing.

but you don’t hear me.

I’m  just a

 siren in the wind.

spending my days

walking amidst your denial

while you worry about

your trials and tribulations

praying,

“Lord, send me my blessing.”

stressing and confessing your sins

promising to make amends

with enemies and friends…
